Understanding your MDS risk score

Date: Tuesday January 18, 2022

Time: 7PM (Eastern Time)

Speaker: Dr. Michelle Geddes, FRCPC

Learning objectives:
Not all MDS is the same; some types are more slowly progressive and some patients have higher risk of needing transfusion support. We will explain some of the different types of MDS, how they can progress differently, and what factors can predict better outcomes or higher risk disease, as well as risk of developing leukemia. We will look at cytogenetics and molecular testing and how this factors into decision making in MDS.
